Student Legal Services (SLS) is the only IU law firm for students on campus.
Founded in 1971, SLS is a pioneer in serving the legal needs of students, and it remains one of the preeminent programs of its type.
We offer IU students confidential advice on legal issues, explain your options when facing legal troubles, and, if we can’t help, we will connect you to someone who can.
SLS employs four full-time attorneys who supervise part-time law students from IU’s Maurer School of Law to assist you with your legal issues. As a client of SLS, you will have an intern serve as your primary contact with the office. If SLS represents you in court, the attorney supervising your case will be present throughout the hearing.
